ローマ法王が死去し、次の法王が選ばれるまでの法王空位の期間だけ使用できる特別の切手です。1939年のピウス11世の死去に伴って発行されたのが最初で、これまでに７回の発行例があります。
Sede Vacante (Interrgnum Issues) stamps issues after the death or resignation of a pope. These stamps can be used only in a period of vacancy of pope. The first Sede Vacante stamps issued in 1939 after death of Pius XI. Total 7 issues have been made until now.
